“New technologies” are a range of innovations in different fields (information and communication technologies, biology, materials physics, nanotechnologies, etc.), mainly empowered by the meteoric development of informatics. They are revolutionizing technical, economic, legal and social practices.

The aim of this module is to examine the effects of these technologies on society. This questioning will be carried out from a number of complementary angles, notably those of technology (analysis of certain major innovations), economics (particularly that relating to intangible goods), law (on software, personal data, etc.) and the human sciences (study of social practices).
