Adjectif qui qualifie "mot" : on obtient un mot tronqué en supprimant une ou plusieurs syllabes. On emploie les mots tronqués à l'oral.

Adjective that qualifies "word" to mean a word that has been shortened by deleting one or some of its syllables. We use shortened words in speech.
